If truth be told, the Osprey is my favorite bird of prey. I don't get to see them as much lately, so this sighting was a thrill.
I was passing Lake Massabesic in Auburn and saw some ducks. I wanted to see if they were interesting. They weren't, they were Mallards, but then I saw this beauty soaring above. What a fortunate moment.
I was hoping he would catch a fish, but no luck.
I think he was looking right at me. Wondering if he could take me.
I saw this warbler in the thicket next to Turkey Pond in Concord. There was something about it, it looked familiar but there was something off about it. It looked so familiar and after a lot of research I am pretty sure it's a Northern Parula.
It's not the classic plumage but it seems to be some sort of variant for first year birds or a female. The amount of olive green seems like a lot but I have seen photos online that match. Pretty bird.
